Shirley Kay Kilpatrick, 62-years-old, died on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her home in Haleyville, Alabama. Shirley was born on March 27, 1962 in Haleyville, Alabama to Theo and Novline Benefield. The youngest of 5 children, her siblings – Royce, Rebecca, Sandra and Ricky. Known for her compassionate heart and ability to share joy with everyone she encountered in her life, she has left a lasting impact for those who loved her to carry on. Even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of love, shown through her beautiful smile, her daily words of encouragement and her unselfish acts of kindness, will never be forgotten. After graduating from Haleyville High School and working as a Dental Hygienist, she met her Sweetheart, Tim Kilpatrick. The couple was married on July 5 th , 1983. Married for 41 years, Shirley and Tim raised their 2 dear children, Justin and Brittany, over the years in Haleyville. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Shirley faithfully cared for family and friends. A woman of faith and the heart of the Kilpatrick family, Shirley shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. With a real zest for life, Mrs. Kilpatrick loved to listen to music of many kinds, read, pray, play games/cards – especially with her Grandchildren, chat with friends and family, and travel…just to name a few. Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include her husband of 41 years, Tim Kilpatrick. Her daughter Brittany Kilpatrick and son Justin Kilpatrick with wife LaRae Kilpatrick. Grandchildren: Peighton Kilpatrick, Anna Flanagin, Kynzlee Flanagin, Landon Malone and Elliot Malone. Immediate family: Rebecca Benefield Dobbs and family, Sandra Benefield Conville and family, and Ricky Benefield and family. In-Law’s: Iva Kilpatrick, Randy and Judy Kilpatrick and family, and Selenia Kilpatrick. Other family members: There are too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and Godchildren to list or even count. Visitation and funeral information for friends and family of Shirley Kilpatrick: Visitation will be held at Pinkard Funeral Home on September 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with the funeral service directly following at 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be presided over by Dr. Lance Hogan. Pall bearers include: Greg Harold, Joe Moon,Jeff Postell, Wes Kilpatrick, Matt Kilpatrick, Donny O’Neal, Butch Foster and Will West.
