Betty Jo Elkins
July 1, 1937 - April 23, 2022
Our beloved Mom and Mawmaw, Betty Jo Elkins entered Heaven Saturday April 23, 2022 at the age of 84 years young. Mom/Mawmaw lived a life full of love, being a mother, grandmother, great great mother. After retiring from Haleyville Drapery she became a full time grandmother. After her husband James Elkins went on to his reward, she was visited even more often by the grands she loved so dearly. She often requested a Big Jack with bacon, and a chicken biscuit, and could be found going up stairs, no one thought was safe and probably working a little too hard. Although life got busy with such a large family she managed to wrangle everyone together on the 3rd or 4th Saturday, the family is split on whether it is 3rd or 4th Saturday, but at the end of day, whatever Saturday she said, is when everyone showed up. Her visitation will be Monday April 25, 2022 2:00PM - 4:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL., with her funeral at 4:00PM in the chapel, with John Humphres officiating. Burial to follow in Lynn Cemetery. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Elkins; son in law, Roger Butch McGough. She is survived by her daughters, Debra (Bill) Jones, Rhonda McGough and Tina (Billy) Stephenson; grandchildren, Amy (John) Humphres, Doug (Heather) Jones, Amanda McGough, Richard McGough, Halie (Cory) Terry, and Austin Stephenson; great grandchildren, Katie (Ryan) Cagle, Riley Humphres, Faith Jones, Hunter Jones and baby Delilah Terry who's on the way. Please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve the loss, but also celebrate the reunion of Betty and James Elkins, who she could not wait to see again.
