Daryl Rowe, Sr.

Daryl Anthony Rowe, Sr. was born on November 29, 1956, in Detroit, MI, and moved to Haleyville, AL, in 1975. On December 22, 1986, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Nancy Rowe. Together they raised two beautiful children, a son, Daryl Anthony "Tony" Rowe, Jr., and a daughter, Lacie Nicole Rowe, whom Daryl affectionately called his Shar Pei puppy and his pet monkey. In life, Daryl was a jack of all trades. In 1991, he and Nancy started Southland Safes, Inc. Over his 30 year career as the "Safe Man," he sold, delivered, and serviced gun safes across the United States from his stores in Haleyville and the Shoals and at gun shows all over the South. Daryl was a prominent member of the community, serving on the Craft Fire Department and as an elected Marion County Constable. He attended New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Nauvoo, and showed God's love to everyone he met----so, unsurprisingly, he never met a stranger. Daryl had many interests, including cars, firearms, and animals. Whenever he had a free moment, he took joyrides in his Plymouth Prowler and shot firearms of all makes, models, and calibers. Whether domestic or wild, Daryl appreciated animals; he enjoyed hunting and cherished his furry family members. Daryl----a faithful husband, doting father, loving son, adoring brother, and reliable friend----was preceded in death by his father, John Rowe, and stepfather, Rayford McNutt. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Rowe; children, Tony and Lacie Rowe; mother, Sarah McNutt; sisters, Kim (James) Burleson and Rhonda (Mike) Key; and three nephews and a niece, along with many other family members and friends who cherish his memory. Daryl's visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 6:00 pm -9:00 pm at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Celebration of life will be Monday, February 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Pinkard Funeral Home with his daughter, Lacie Rowe, speaking and Pastor Chris Pschirer officiating. Burial to follow at Ireland Freewill Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Freewill Baptist Children's Home, also known as the Eldridge Children's Home, in Eldridge, AL.
